Sari or Saree is a traditional Indian female attire from the Indian subcontinent that consists of a drape varying from six to nine yards (4.5 metres to 8 metres) in length. As many already know how to wear it in the traditional manner, I wanted to think out of the box and give the 6 yards a more contemporary look. My client showcased this look at one of the Indo-Western events in Seattle and was well appreciated.
The two ends of the fabric are tied up and worn on the shoulders.
While the pleates are tucked in on the back and cinched at the waist with a belt.
Hence giving it a jumpsuit-type look.
